How much is Salman Khan making from ‘Bigg Boss 20’?
Salman Khan has been the face of the reality show “Bigg Boss” for more than 15 years. Contestants, themes and rules change from season to season, but the Bollywood star has remained a fixture as host of the reality show.
His “Weekend Ka Vaar” appearances, where he quizzes contestants and weighs in on events inside the house, have become one of the programme’s signature features. And with every new season comes the same question: how much is Salman being paid?
The broadcaster and production company have not officially disclosed his fee for “Bigg Boss 20”, but Indian media reports suggest his remuneration remains substantial. Reports over the years have put his earnings at increasingly higher levels as the show has grown in popularity, though many of those figures have never been confirmed by Salman or the producers. “Bigg Boss 13”, featuring Sidharth Shukla, Shehnaaz Gill, Asim Riaz and Rashami Desai, remains one of the show’s most popular seasons. Salman was widely reported to have received a substantial fee for hosting that edition, which was later extended because of its popularity. Neither he nor the programme’s makers publicly confirmed the reported amount. Media reports now suggest Salman could receive between Rs 1.2 billion and Rs 1.5 billion in total for hosting “Bigg Boss 20”.
He is expected to continue appearing during the weekend “Weekend Ka Vaar” episodes, with reports also circulating about a per-episode fee. The figures have not been officially confirmed.
“Bigg Boss 20” is set to begin on Friday, Sept 11.
Olympic boxer and politician Mary Kom has been among the names linked with the new season, while Aman Gandhi, Mahi Vij and Riya Ahir have also been reported as possible contestants.
