BCIC Chairman inspects Jamuna Fertilizer Factory
Dr. Md. Mahmudur Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC), visited Jamuna Fertilizer Company Limited at Tarakandi in Jamalpur on Saturday (September 5, 2026).
During the visit, the BCIC Chairman inspected various plants and machinery of the factory and took updates on their current condition, progress toward resuming production, and overall operational activities, including the supply and distribution of fertilizer from the warehouses. He also attended an exchange-of-views meeting with the factory's management authorities.
Later, Dr. Rahman visited the warehouses and sales centers of BCIC's local fertilizer dealers, M/s Rana Enterprise and M/s Chan Mia Traders, at Jagannathganj Ghat in Sarishabari, Jamalpur, and reviewed their overall sales activities.
During the inspection, he inquired about fertilizer stocks at the dealers' warehouses, sales to farmers, any shortages, and relevant documentation concerning the sale of fertilizer at government-fixed prices, among other matters.
Following discussions with the dealers and a review of the overall fertilizer stock situation in the area, the BCIC Chairman confirmed that there was no shortage of fertilizer in the area.
