Ansar-VDP Members Repair Road in Narayanganj, Easing Traffic Movement
Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (Ansar-VDP) have repaired damaged and pothole-ridden sections of a road and cleared overgrown weeds and vegetation from both sides in Rupganj, Narayanganj, easing movement for local residents and vehicles.

The initiative was carried out on a narrow road in Kayetpara Union of Rupganj Upazila, where the excessive growth of weeds and trees along both sides had significantly reduced the road’s usable width. As a result, two vehicles often faced difficulties passing each other.

The road was also damaged at several points, with large potholes causing further inconvenience. The movement of trucks and buses frequently led to traffic congestion, causing considerable hardship for local residents.

In an effort to reduce public suffering, Md. Rakib, Team Leader of the Kayetpara Union, voluntarily joined several Village Defence Party (VDP) members to clear the overgrown vegetation from both sides of the road. They also collected brick chips and construction debris from other locations and used them to repair the damaged and pothole-ridden sections.

Following the repairs, the road became somewhat wider and more suitable for vehicle movement. The initiative also helped reduce traffic obstructions and congestion while making the movement of local residents easier.

Local residents expressed appreciation for the humanitarian and public welfare initiative undertaken by the Ansar-VDP members to alleviate their daily difficulties.

The members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force continue to play a responsible role across the country, not only in maintaining public security and order but also by standing beside communities through various social and public welfare activities.
