22nd Academic Council Meeting of AAUB held
The 22nd Academic Council Meeting of Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB) was held at the Conference Room of the university’s Dhaka Campus, with Vice-Chancellor Air Vice Marshal M Mustafizur Rahman, BSP, GUP, nswc, afwc, psc, GD(P), in the chair, according to a press release.
Welcoming the members, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the rapid transformation taking place in the aviation, aerospace and space sectors driven by advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), autonomous systems, robotics and data-driven technologies.
He emphasized that higher education must move beyond conventional academic curricula and establish stronger links among education, research, innovation and emerging technologies to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving sectors.
Particular emphasis was placed on integrating AI with aviation and aerospace technologies. The Vice-Chancellor noted that such integration is opening new avenues for advanced research in areas including AI-enabled aircraft maintenance and operations, data links, unmanned aerial systems, space systems and advanced engineering design.
He further observed that the role of a modern university extends beyond disseminating existing knowledge. Universities must contribute to the creation of contemporary knowledge, develop new technologies through research and innovation, and generate solutions tailored to national requirements.
In this regard, he said AAUB is continuing its efforts to strengthen indigenous technological capabilities, promote technological self-reliance and develop internationally competent human resources for the aviation and aerospace sectors.
During the meeting, an overview of major academic and administrative activities undertaken since the 21st Academic Council Meeting was presented. The Council subsequently discussed curriculum development, future plans for higher education and research, and initiatives aimed at further enhancing academic quality.
Members of AAUB and representatives of the Academic Council from the Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh Maritime University (BMU), Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), and Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) attended the meeting.
