Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia agree deal to boost Regional Archery
Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) and the Saudi Arabian Archery Federation (SAAF) have established a formal bilateral framework designed to strengthen elite athlete development, enhance technical capabilities, and expand the footprint of the sport across the Asian continent.The agreement was reached during an executive summit in Saudi Arabia between Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol, President of World Archery Asia and the Bangladesh Archery Federation, and Turki Al-Darbi, President of the Saudi Arabian Archery Federation.
The strategic dialogue centered on Saudi Arabia’s expanding sporting infrastructure and identified key operational areas for institutional cooperation. Under the agreed framework, both governing bodies will prioritize:
Technical & Administrative Development: Implementing joint certification programs and advanced training modules for coaches, judges, and technical officials.
High-Performance Preparatory Camps: Establishing bilateral elite training camps utilizing modern sports science facilities to improve athlete readiness.
Competitive Fixtures: Evaluating the operational feasibility of regular joint exhibition matches and friendly international tournaments.
Mr. Chapol outlined strategic initiatives through which World Archery Asia will support infrastructure growth, talent identification, and capacity building across the Middle East. Both leaders affirmed that structured cross-border collaboration remains critical to elevating competitive standards and fostering sports diplomacy between the two nations.
