'Keep home surroundings clean to prevent dengue'
Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain has urged everyone to keep their home surroundings clean to prevent dengue.
He urged the residents in every area across the country must unite to raise public awareness about dengue prevention.
He called upon everyone to work together in their respective areas during the three-month-long cleanliness drive, in accordance with the Prime Minister's directives.
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a free medical camp organized by Rupganj Upazila BNP at Bhulta Eidgah ground on Saturday afternoon, marking the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Advocate Mahfuzur Rahman Humayun, President of Rupganj Upazila BNP, presided over the meeting.
Speaking at the program, the Health Minister stated said, the approval has been granted to upgrade Rupganj Upazila Health Complex from a 50-bed facility to a modern 151-bed hospital, adding that this project will be implemented very soon.
He also remarked that the development of healthcare services is not possible without the collective cooperation of all.
Later, he distributed free medical services and medicines among the poor, destitute, and low-income people, and released fish fry of various species into a water body.
Narsingdi-3 MP Manjur Elahi (MP, Narsingdi-3), Narsingdi-5 MP Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul, Narayanganj-5 MP Abul Kalam, reserved women's seat-328 MP Momtaz Alo, Narayanganj Zila Parishad Administrator Professor Mamun Mahmud, Narayanganj District BNP former General Secretary Alhaj Golam Faruk Khokon and Rupganj Upazila BNP Vice-Presidents Anwar Sadat Sayem, Ashraful Haque Ripon, and Mahbubur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.
