Former DU Professor Tahsina Rahim passes away
Dr. Tahsina Rahim, a retired professor of the Department of Botany at Dhaka University (DU), passed away at 9:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at her residence in Dhaka due to complications associated with old age. She was 79 years old.
She is survived by two sons, as well as numerous students, relatives and well-wishers.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka, Professor Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam, expressed deep sorrow at the death of retired Professor Dr. Tahsina Rahim of the Department of Botany.
In a condolence message, the Vice-Chancellor said that she was a dedicated teacher and researcher. She will be remembered for her outstanding contributions to education and research.
The Vice-Chancellor prayed for the eternal peace and salvation of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family members.
