Archery president Chapol announces six wheelchairs for Para athletes
The Bangladesh team will participate in the Asian Para Games, scheduled to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from October 18 to 24. A total of 23 para athletes will represent Bangladesh in six disciplines. With the aim of achieving better results at the Asian Games, the National Paralympic Committee of Bangladesh has taken further effective initiatives. Five high-quality wheelchairs have been provided to the para athletes.
The wheelchairs were handed over to the athletes on Monday at the National Stadium. Present at the handover ceremony were J. Parvez Chowdhury, Director (Sports) of the National Sports Council; Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol, President of World Archery Asia and the Bangladesh Archery Federation; Dr. Maruf Ahmed Mridul, Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee of Bangladesh; and other sports organizers.
Jahid Parvez Chowdhury stated that the National Sports Council will always continue its support for para athletes. Meanwhile, Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol announced that six wheelchairs would be provided to support the para athletes. He said the wheelchairs would be donated on behalf of his family.
Sports officials and organizers are hopeful that Bangladesh will win medals at the Asian Para Games.
