Three drug traders held with 10,000 yaba pills in Teknaf
Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) detained three drug traders with 10,000 yaba pills during an anti-drug drive in Teknaf.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan disclosed the information on Wednesday morning.
He said, "Acting on a tip-off, the Coast Guard Station Teknaf conducted a special operation at 4:00 PM on Tuesdayin the Dailpara area under Teknaf Police Station, Cox's Bazar. During the drive, coast guard personnel arrested three drug traders and seized 10,000 yaba pills worth Tk. 50 lakh, Tk 2,200 in cash, and four mobile phones."
Arrangements for taking further legal action are underway, he said.
Coast Guard will continue to conduct such operations in future to curb the spread of dangerous drugs, the media officer added.
