Brahmanbaria-2 Member of Parliament (MP) Rumeen Farhan on Friday said that it is a constitutional right of any citizen of Bangladesh to leave the country and return any time.
The independent lawmaker and former BNP leader came up with the remarks while responding to reporters on ousted Sheikh Hasina's potential return to Bangladesh after an event in Brahmanbaria's Ashuganj upazila in the afternoon.
The event was organised by the Abdul Kadir Shah Library in Ashuganj.
Barrister Rumeen Farhana said, "Any citizen of Bangladesh can leave the country at any time and can also enter the country at any time. This is clearly stated in the Constitution. What steps the government will take after someone enters Bangladesh is up to the government."
