CPB President Kazi Sazzad Zahir leaves for China
Kazi Sazzad Zahir Chandan, President of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), left Dhaka for China on Friday evening for a seven-day visit at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
He departed for China from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. During his visit, he will travel to Wuhan, Hanchuan, Chengdu and several other regions.
On the first day of his visit, September 19, the CPB president will deliver a speech titled “From National Liberation to Social Transformation: Bangladesh and the Question of Socialism” at a seminar organized by the Institute of Scientific Socialism at Central China Normal University (CCNU) in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province.
In his speech, he will discuss Bangladesh's national liberation struggle, the country's sociopolitical realities after independence, a roadmap for the democratic transformation of society and the state, and the question of socialism in Bangladesh.
On September 20, the second day of his visit, Chandan will tour Wuhan and attend a welcome banquet hosted by the Hubei provincial government.
On September 21, he will participate as a guest alongside prominent leaders from different countries at an international conference organized to mark World Peace Day 2026. He will speak at the plenary session titled “Pooling Wisdom to Promote Peace.”
During his stay in Hubei, Chandan will also visit sites related to China's cultural heritage, environmental research, startup incubation facilities and various local development initiatives.
The CPB president is scheduled to return to Dhaka on September 25.
