Abdul Bari called govt officials to uphold professionalism in duties
State Minister for Public Administration Abdul Bari has called upon the government employees to uphold professionalism in their duties and keep them above any political choice.
He said this while addressing a meeting on law and order and development at Bogura deputy commissioner's conference room on Wednesday.
"The government officials may have their own political choice, but they are liable to the people for their service and implementing development agenda," he said.
The state minister said posting, promotion of the government officials is being done completely based on transparency, honesty and competence, he said.
Talking about overall economic and other development of Bogura, he said the government has taken initiatives to turn Bogura as a dynamic 'economic hub' through construction of an airport, agro-based industries and an international standard university.
In addition, the efforts are going on to attract foreign and local investment to exploit prospects of small and medium scale industries, and promote agro-processing industries for export.
Highlighting the social safety programmes of the government, the state minister said the government has launched family card, farmer card, health card to develop livelihood of the lower income people. Clerics of different religious organizations were brought under the social safety programme.
Side by side, the state minister said initiatives have been taken to create any atmosphere free from any discrimination at primary school level apart from taking measures for giving nutritious food.
For protecting environment and safe drinking water, Abdul Bari said a long term initiatives for river reclamation and water supply through refining the marine water have been taken.
Country's fragile economy will quickly rebound and overall law and order will be improved under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, he said.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Bogura M Toufiqur Rahman, the programmae was also attended by chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Housing and Public Works M Rezaul Karim Badsha MP as the special guest.
Among others, Morshed Milton MP of Bogura-7, M Abdul Muhit Talukder of Bogura-3, district council administrator AKM Ahsanul Taiyab Zakir, local BNP leaders and senior government officials attended the meeting.
