Bangladesh Ambassador Andalib Elias Presents Credentials to King of Thailand
Andalib Elias, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Thailand, officially presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua in an audience held at the Royal Palace in Bangkok on 22nd September 2026.
The presentation of credentials marks the formal assumption of duties for Ambassador Elias as Bangladesh's top diplomatic envoy to Thailand.
Ahead of presenting his credentials to His Majesty, Ambassador Elias engaged in bilateral discussions with Thai diplomatic officials to reiterate the commitment of both nations toward strengthening trade, investment, and bilateral cooperation. Key areas of discussion included improving regional air and maritime connectivity and expanding trade partnerships ahead of the upcoming 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Thailand.
Ambassador Andalib Elias is a senior career diplomat belonging to the 20th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre. With over two decades of diplomatic experience, his career encompasses key domestic and international roles, including serving as Bangladesh's High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata, and Director-General for both the Multilateral Economic Affairs Wing and the West Europe & EU Wing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.
