Feeding the unfed by Moonlight Development Society in Bogura
For last five years, the elderly, disabled, rootless, people from different profession have been waiting at Shatmatha in Bogura town for food in each and every day and after getting their food from the side of charitable organization of the town named Moonlight Development Society free of cost.
After getting the food from hands of the volunteers of the organsiation, their faces beams brightly and their bright faces are the asset of the charitable organization of the town.
The humane organization started its humanitarian activities from June 16, 2021 at Shatmatha in the centre of the town and has been serving organic food, vegetables, formalin-free fishes, eggs, beefs, chicken meats, and fried fishes.
Rickshaw Puller Abdul Wahab said that daily Tk. 100 needs for his lunch and after getting foods from the organization, he can save at least 3,000 taka every month which is very helpful for supporting his needy family.
Jesmine Aktar of Seujgari area said that previously she had to pass her days foodless but after getting food from the organization, she passes her days well and during lunch time, she reaches in the location.
Disabled Monju Mia of Jamilnagar area sad that the organization has been feeling for the helpless people of the society and they get security of the food in one meal.
Besides, by running Moonlight Children's Home at Nataipara area in Bogura town, the organization has been rendering multi-services to the downtrodden people of the society and giving the light of education to around 50 rootless children. The organization has also been running Moonlight health Complex at Kolakopa area in Gabtoli upazila in the district to ensure standard health services. It also runs monitory help fund to stand beside the people.
For its humane activities and social services, the organization was awarded in 2022 by the Ministry of Social Welfare under the government of Bangladesh.
Contacted, Nurul Islam, Social Service Officer, Town Social Service Office of Bogura said that the organization has been rendering the humane and welfare activities and it can be a model to the people of Bangladesh.
