Engr Atiquzzaman appointed DMD of Chattogram WASA
Engineer Atiquzzaman Billah, a leader of the Association of Engineers Bangladesh (AEB), has been appointed Deputy Managing Director (DMD-Engineering) of Chattogram WASA.
He was appointed to the post on a contractual basis for one year from the date of joining, subject to certain conditions, according to a government notification signed on September 20 by Md Golam Rabbani, Deputy Secretary of the Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration.
The notification said the appointment was made on the condition that he would relinquish any other profession or business, as well as any employment relationship with any government, private or semi-government organisation or association.
Engineer Atiquzzaman Billah obtained a B.Sc. Engg. in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Mechanical from Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). He has more than 21 years of professional experience in various industrial establishments.
A former Chhatra Dal leader at CUET, Engr. Atiq Billah previously served as General Secretary of the Chattogram Division of the Association of Engineers Bangladesh (AEB), the professional organisation of BNP, and as a former Joint Secretary General of the AEB Central Committee.
Relevant quarters expect that he will make a positive contribution to the activities of Chattogram WASA through his extensive professional experience, engineering knowledge, expertise and skills. His experience is also expected to play an important role in ensuring water supply to city residents and in various activities of the water utility.
Engineer Atiquzzaman Billah is a resident of Bakhtpur Union in Fatikchhari upazila. He is a descendant of renowned linguist Dr Muhammad Enamul Haq.
