Madonna dominates 2026 MTV VMAs with seven wins
Madonna emerged as the biggest winner at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, taking home seven trophies at the ceremony held Monday (IST) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The legendary singer, who led this year’s nominations with 13 nods, won Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration for Bring Your Love with Sabrina Carpenter, Best Dance, Best Cinematography, Best Choreography, Best Long Form Video and Best Album, all for Confessions II – The Film except the collaboration award.
Madonna, however, missed out on the night’s biggest prize, with Taylor Swift winning Video of the Year for The Fate of Ophelia.
Swift, who was second among the leading nominees with 11 nods, also won Best Direction for Opalite.
She was also honoured with the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, recognising her work as both an artist and director of her music videos.
Carpenter won Best Editing for House Tour and shared the Best Collaboration award with Madonna for Bring Your Love. The two singers appeared together on stage to accept the trophy.
Among other major winners, BTS won Song of the Year for Swim and Best K-Pop, while also taking the Best Group award.
Sienna Spiro won Best New Artist, LISA took Best Pop for Dream feat. Kentaro Sakaguchi, Cardi B featuring Kehlani won Best Hip-Hop for Safe and Bruno Mars won Best R&B for I Just Might.
