We should not ignore the symptom of heart disease :Health Minister
Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain Bokul has said that, no one should avoid the warning sign or symptom of heart diseases. He made the remarks at the Inter-continental hotel in the capital on Tuesday while addressing the discussion meeting of “World Heart Day-2026” inauguration ceremony.The program was organized by the Bangladesh Cardiac Society. He further said that the death rate of heart disease is greater than any other non- communicable diseases of our country. So there is no alternative of awareness in preventing and controlling heart disease, he added.
Minister elaborately came up and said again that, it is necessary to seek doctor advice quickly without ignoring any signal or warning of the heart. Moreover, not only heart disease but also public awareness is very important in the prevention and control of all types of diseases.
Referring to doctors as the best people in the society, Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bokul however mentioned that, after the Creator Almighty, doctors are the more trusted by the people and doctors are the first to stand by people in times of trouble. In addition, from the covid-19 pandemic to dengue and during the various natural disasters doctors as well as health workers have been engaged in serving people without thinking of their own lives and safety. Therefore their sense of humanitarian and professional responsibility is exemplary for the country’s people, he added again.
The program was presided over by the Convener of the Bangladesh Cardiac Society Professor Dr. Mohammad Shafiuddin. Health Education Directorate DG Dr. Nazmul Hasan, Assistant Personal Physician to the Prime Minister Dr. ANM Monowarul Quadir were also spoke at the event. It is mentioned that, Earlier Health Minister officially inaugurated World Heart Day by releasing balloons at the premises of the super specialized hospital BMU and participated at the organized rally.
