Jamaat creating instability in collaboration with AL cohorts: Aminul
State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque on Wednesday said Jamaat-e-Islami is creating an unstable situation in the country in collaboration with cohorts of the Awami League.
"Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's plans for the country's development have become visible to the people within seven months of assuming office. When we are striving to earn the people's trust and establish their rights, the opposition- while professing support within parliament- displays a completely different face outside the House," he said.
The opposition's conduct outside the parliament reflects the role they played during the Liberation War, Aminul said, adding, "They say one thing publicly and another in their hearts".
Aminul Haque said this while speaking at a programme arranged for distributing sports materials among 127 educational institutions in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district, BSS reports.
Noting that the opposition are spreading misinformation in the name of freedom of expression, the state minister said, those, who are secretly cooperating with Awami terrorists to create instability in the country, are also blaming the government for the situation".
"Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general is attempting to shift the blame on BNP. What greater falsehood could there be? Essentially, through their conduct, Jamaat-e-Islami has come to be perceived by the public as a clandestine entity. Being failed to sell 'tickets of paradise' to the people, they are now adopting a different path," he said.
Aminul said while Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working to protect the interests and rights of the people and ensure overall development, the opposition is again cheating with the people.
"They, in association with cohorts of Awami League, is attempting to create instability in the country and confuse the people," he said urging the countrymen to remain alert and vigilant and maintain confidence in the government's development efforts.
On sports, he said people are dreaming of seeing Bangladesh's participation in the FIFA World Cup. The government is working for the overall development of the country's sports sector to make that dream a reality, he added.
Nasirnagar upazila administration organized the event while lawmaker from Brahmanbaria-1 constituency MA Hannan inaugurated it.
Nadia Pathan Papon, MP, Principal Information Officer (PIO) Syed Abdal Ahmed, Brahmanbaria Zilla Parishad Administrator Sirajul Islam Siraj and former civil servant Mofiz Uddin, among others, attended the programme as special guests with Brahmanbaria Deputy Commissioner Abu Sayed in the chair.
