Ravindra Gupta New Country Head of SBI Bangladesh

Ravindra Kumar Gupta has taken over the charge as Country Head of State Bank of India (SBI), Bangladesh Operations.

He replaces Amit Kumar, who had been heading SBI's Bangladesh operations since 2022. Kumar completed his tenure in Bangladesh and returned to India on October 1, 2026.

Gupta joined SBI as a Probationary Officer in 2002 and has held various positions across branch banking, regional business management and operations during his more than two-decade career with the bank.

He has served at several SBI branches in Karnataka, including Jayanagar II Block, Virajpet, Malleswaram, Koramangala, Cauvery Bhavan, Manipal and Mallikatta. He later served at Bengaluru South and the Specialised Personal Banking Branch.

He also served as Regional Manager at Gadag and Dharwad under the Hubballi Administrative Office, overseeing regional business and operations.
In June this year, Gupta moved to northern India as Deputy General Manager. He initially served at SBI's Zonal Office in Jammu before moving to the Zonal Office in Mohali. 

His most recent assignment was at the bank's Local Head Office in Chandigarh.

Gupta holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and an MBA in Marketing.

 He has also completed the JAIIB and CAIIB banking examinations.

His professional training includes programmes on branch management, cybercrime and fraud prevention, commercial credit, mutual fund distribution and bancassurance. 

He has also completed senior-management development programmes covering IT and cyber security, retail business and operations, among others.
