Babul Mia made BCIC Chairman
Md. Babul Mia, an Additional Secretary in the Planning Division, has been appointed chairman of the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC). The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Wednesday night (30 September 2026), appointing him on deputation and placing his services under the Ministry of Industries.
Babul Mia is the secretary-general of the Bangladesh Administrative Service Association, the organization representing officers of the administration cadre.
Dr. Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman, an additional secretary attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, has been posted to the Planning Division to work as an additional secretary at the Planning Commission. In another order, Major Mohammad Tarek Hasan Masud has been appointed assistant project director of the project for introducing Bangladesh's e-passport and automated border control management system. For this purpose, his services have been placed under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Meanwhile, Major Mohammad Naim Morshed Rumman, who was serving as assistant project director of the same project, has been placed under the Armed Forces Division so that he can be returned to the Bangladesh Army.
