National Press Club expresses grief at Toufique Imrose  Khalidi's death

The National Press Club has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Toufique Imrose Khalidi, Editor-in-Chief of bdnews24.com and a permanent member of the National Press Club.

In a condolence message on Saturday, Press Club President Hasan Hafiz and General Secretary Ayub Bhuiyan said, "Toufique Imrose Khalidi was one of the pioneers in the development of online and digital journalism in Bangladesh. With his untimely death, the country has lost a gracious and distinguished media personality. His contributions to journalism and the media will be remembered."

In the statement, the leaders prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved members of his family.

Toufique Imrose Khalidi, who was visiting London on a personal trip, fell critically ill after suffering a brain hemorrhage and was taken to St Bartholomew's Hospital.

Doctors pronounced him dead at 2:23 p.m. local time on Friday. He was 59.

During his career, he worked at various media organizations, including bdnews24.com, The Daily Star, The Financial Express, and BBC World Service Bangla.
