Bangladesh's outgoing high commissioner to India Riaz Hamidullah has made a farewell call on Indian Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar and discussed people-centric relationship.
'Not walking conventional paths of #diplomacy, trying to touch the chords with #people,' he shared on X on Sunday after the call on in New Delhi.
"Pleased to receive Bangladesh High Commissioner Riaz Hamidullah for a farewell call. Appreciate his contribution and wish him all the best in future endeavours," said Dr S Jaishankar in a post from his verified social media account.
During his eighteen month stint in India as Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, Riaz said he tried to quietly advance Bangladesh-India relations, premised on mutual trust, dignity and shared benefits. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi on Saturday highlighted the need for continuous dialogue, mutual respect and trust between the two countries to address bilateral issues, saying every issue between the two neighbours has a solution.
"There's no point hiding the issues, and there's no point not talking about the issues," he said while speaking at a discussion titled "Power and Prudence: Managing Great-Power Competition without Conflict" as part of the ongoing Bay of Bengal Conversation in Dhaka.
