Cohorts of fallen regime trying to destabilize country: Rizvi

Cohorts of the fallen fascist regime are trying to create instability in the country and put the elected government in trouble,BNP acting Secretary General RuhulKabirRizvi said.

He came up with the remarks while addressing a leaflet distribution programme on dengue awareness on the premises of Bangladesh Medical University in the capital on Wednesday noon.

Rizvi, Political Adviser to the Prime Minister, said, "TariqueRahman's government is the people's government, and the government will not tolerate any kind of anarchy or crime."

Criticising the recent incident in which a top criminal was allowed to flee from a police van, he said the matter needs to be investigated to determine how he managed to escape from police custody.

"Those involved in the incident must be identified quickly through a fair investigation and brought to justice," the BNP leader said.

Calling upon every municipality and local government institution in the country to strengthen cleanliness campaigns to control the dengue outbreak, he said that, along with destroying mosquito larvae to prevent dengue, it is important to take various necessary initiatives to stop mosquito breeding.

Rizvi further said that under the Prime Minister's three-month cleanliness programme announced on September 12, local government employees and colleagues will conduct cleanliness campaigns in various places to prevent dengue.
