State Minister for Health Dr. MA Muhit has called upon the formation of a cardiac ambulance network and ambulance pool for Dhaka city and surrounding districts with a view to reduce the death rate from heart disease. He made the remarks at the Popular Medical College Hospital in the capital Dhanmondi on Thursday while addressing on the “World Heart Day” and “Popular Cath Lab” first anniversary ceremony.
He further said that, Golden Hour is very important for heart patients. By private initiative cardiac ambulance network can be introduced in Dhaka and at least five surrounding districts to ensure quick access to the hospital. After analyzing the one year operational activities, an initiative will be taken to form a nationwide ambulance pool, he added. On the other hand, if a coordinated and effective ambulance network is established , it will be possible to take patients towards hospitals in time as well as it will play a pivotal role in saving people’s live. State Minister added again.
Dr. Muhit also the public health specialist came up again and further mentioned that, doctors should be ensured medical services as per the people expectations as well as doctors communication skills with patients and relatives should be improved. In addition, if the situation and treatment methods are properly explained to patients and relatives prior any treatment or intervention, the chances of misunderstanding and regret will be hefty reduced, he added.
The program was presided over by the professor Dr. AKM Mohiuddin Bhuiyan Masum. Popular Group MD and CEO Dr Mustafizur Rahman was present as the guest of honor. DG Health Services Dr. Prabhat Chandra Biswas, DG Health Education Professor Dr. Nazmul Hossain, ADG of Health Services Professor Dr. Foara Tasmeem and the Premier’s Assistant personal physician and cardiologist Dr. ANM Monowarul Quader Bitu were also present as the special guests.
