Veteran journalist Amir Khasru passes away

Renowned journalist Amir Khasru passed away on Saturday evening while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Medical University in Dhaka. He was 64.

Family sources confirmed that the veteran newsman breathed his last around 7:00 PM. He had been battling prolonged kidney and liver complications.
Throughout his distinguished career, Khasru served as the former Executive Editor of Weekly Budhbar, a Bangladesh correspondent for Voice of America, and a diplomatic correspondent for The Daily Ittefaq.

He leaves behind his wife, a son, a daughter, and a rich legacy in Bangladeshi journalism.

His funeral prayer will be held today after Zuhr prayers at the Banani Intellectuals' Graveyard in the capital, and he will be buried there, according to BSS.

BFUJ President Obaidur Rahman Shahin and Secretary General and Managing Director and Chief Editor of BSS Mohammed Kader Gani 

Chowdhury, National Press Club President Hasan Hafiz and General Secretary Ayub Bhuyan, DUJ President Md. Shahidul Islam and General Secretary Khurshid Alam expressed deep shock and grief at the death of Amir Khosru.
