IFIC Bank celebrates 50 years  of its glorious journey

IFIC marked the completion of its glorious 50-year journey on 8 October 2026. To commemorate this historic milestone, the Bank hosted its Golden Jubilee Celebration under the theme “50 Years of Unwavering Trust” on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall of IFIC Tower in Dhaka. 
The event brought together members of the Board of Directors, Senior Management, and Officials from different levels of the Bank. The celebration concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting and group photo session.

Md. Mehmood Husain, Chairman and Independent Director of IFIC Bank PLC, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by distinguished Special Guests, including Md. Ebtadul Islam, Chairman of the Risk Management Committee and Independent Director; Kazi Md. Mahboob Kasem, FCA, Chairman of the Audit Committee and Independent Director; and Md. Golam Mostofa, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Director of the Bank.

Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Md. Mehmood Husain said, “IFIC's five-decade journey represents a significant milestone in the country's banking sector. However, sustaining this achievement and building upon it presents an even greater challenge. As the banking landscape becomes increasingly competitive, customer needs and expectations continue to evolve. Keeping pace with these changes requires a renewed emphasis on good governance, effective management, and modern banking services.”

He further observed that the Bank's ongoing reform and modernization initiatives were progressing in the right direction. Expressing optimism about the future, he emphasized that the collective commitment and concerted efforts of employees at every level would enable IFIC Bank to further consolidate its position as a stronger and more resilient financial institution in the near future.

In the welcome address, Syed Mansur Mustafa, Managing Director of IFIC Bank PLC, said, “The unwavering trust and affection of our customers remain the greatest achievement of IFIC's five-decade journey. Fifty years is more than a passage of time; it is a remarkable story shaped by the aspirations of countless individuals, enduring relationships, and collective dedication. The true significance of this journey lies in making a meaningful difference in people's lives and nurturing relationships of trust across generations. Our aspiration is to leave behind an IFIC that will remain a symbol of trust and reliability for the next fifty years and beyond.”

The Special Guests, Md. Ebtadul Islam, Kazi Md. Mahboob Kasem, FCA, and Mr. Md. Golam Mostofa, also addressed the gathering. In their respective remarks, they extended their heartfelt wishes for the Bank's continued prosperity, progress, and success.

Earlier, on Thursday, 8 October 2026, IFIC celebrated its Golden Jubilee across its nationwide network of branches and uposhakhas through a series of commemorative activities. Colourful rallies, interactive sessions, and daylong programmes brought together customers, well-wishers, and Bank officials in a shared celebration of this historic occasion. Ceremonial cake-cutting marked the completion of five decades of service, commitment, and enduring relationships.

Founded on 8 October 1976, IFIC has remained closely associated with Bangladesh's economic progress for five decades, consistently striving to bring banking services closer to the people. With the Government of Bangladesh holding a 32.75% ownership stake, the Bank currently serves more than 2.5 million customers through an extensive network of over 1,400 branches and uposhakhas nationwide.

 With a deposit portfolio exceeding BDT 550 billion, IFIC Bank continues to play a significant role in the country's banking sector. By extending modern, accessible, and inclusive financial services from bustling urban centres to remote communities, the Bank remains committed to advancing financial inclusion and contributing to Bangladesh's sustained economic development.
