Coast Guard Strengthens Security in Bhola Ahead of Durga Puja
The Bangladesh Coast Guard has strengthened security at religious sites, important installations and coastal areas in Bhola to protect public safety and property ahead of Sharadiya Durga Puja.

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon disclosed the information on Saturday morning.

In accordance with government directives, the Bangladesh Coast Guard continues to provide security during various religious festivals and safeguard religious places of worship, important installations and the lives and property of the general public.

As part of these efforts, the Bangladesh Coast Guard's South Zone is ensuring security at 371 Durga Puja mandaps across 18 upazilas in six districts under its jurisdiction, particularly in coastal areas where Hindu communities are celebrating the annual Sharadiya Durga Puja festival.

Coast Guard personnel will remain on duty around the clock throughout the festival to prevent any untoward incidents in their areas of responsibility.

To ensure that members of the Hindu community can celebrate the festival peacefully and safely, intelligence surveillance and patrol operations have been intensified. A specialised Coast Guard diving team will also remain on standby to respond to potential accidents during the immersion of Durga idols.

Members of the public can contact the Coast Guard's emergency helpline at 16111 for assistance in the event of any unpleasant incident.
