The West Indies cricket team arrived in Dhaka on Sunday to play a two-match Test series against Bangladesh.
The series which is the part of ICC World Test Championship (WTC) starts on October 28.
The visiting team made a late change to the squad as all-rounder Shamar Springer replaced pacer Keemo Paul, the Cricket West Indies confirmed in a statement today. Paul has withdrawn him from the series due to personal and family reasons.
The visitors will play three-day warm-up match on October 22 before the first Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The second and final Test is scheduled to begin in Sylhet International Stadium on November 5.
The West Indies last toured for Tests in Bangladesh in 2021, eventually winning the series 2-0.
So far the two teams played 11 Test series with Bangladesh winning two in 2009 and 2018. West Indies won eight series and one series ended in a draw.
Overall of the 22 Tests between the two teams, Bangladesh won five and lost 15 while two Tests were drawn.
However, Bangladesh's recent form made them heavily favourite to win the series and take a giant leap toward the WTC final. The confidence soared further following their 1-1 draw in two-match Test series in Australia recently.
Bangladesh are currently fourth in the WTC standing while West Indies are in eighth place.
Earlier, West Indies head coach Daren Sammy believes a 2-2 scoreline against India is a fair reflection of his side's performance, following the rain-marred final T20I in Bengaluru.
The visitors entered the series with a poor record on Indian soil, having lost all three of their previous bilateral T20I series while winning just one match out of seven.
"It's a true reflection of how all the teams have played, especially for our guys," Sammy said at the post-match press conference of the Bengaluru T20I.
"I'm pretty sure when the series started, we probably didn't have a chance. But that was just the opinion of others."
West Indies squad: Roston Chase (c), Jomel Warrican (vc), Joshua Bishop, John Campbell, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Joshua Da Silva, Justin Greaves, Kavem Hodge, Amir Jangoo, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, Shamar Springer and Kevin Wickham.
