Playgrounds to be built in every union of the country: Aminul

To identify and nurture talented  athletes from the grassroots level, the government has initiated a plan to construct a playground in each of the country's 4,599 unions. Furthermore, district-level stadiums will be modernized and upgraded to ensure they are well-suited for sports, thereby facilitating the development of high-caliber athletes.

State Minister for Youth and Sports, Aminul Haque, shared these details while briefing journalists on Saturday afternoon. He had just inaugurated an eco-friendly, energy-efficient biogas plant-part of the 'Impact (Phase-3)' project-in the Hajipara area of Kamarpukur Union, located in the Syedpur Upazila of Nilphamari.

Regarding the government's vision for the sports sector, the State Minister stated that the current administration aims to elevate sports to a professional level. To this end, new sporting initiatives have been launched. Additionally, to foster an interest in sports among students from a young age, a dedicated chapter on sports is being incorporated into the fourth-grade curriculum.

Emphasizing the installation of biogas plants as a strategy to address the energy crisis, the State Minister noted that if such plants are established in individual households and areas with cattle farms, the country's energy challenges could be significantly mitigated. Moreover, young people could create employment opportunities for themselves by installing and connecting these plants.

The State Minister also highlighted that the current government is working with the goal of building a prosperous and strong Bangladesh.
Outlining the government's     multifaceted efforts toward youth employment and skill development, the State Minister explained that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has adopted various contemporary    programs to provide job opportunities for educated, unemployed youth.

Special emphasis is being placed on skill development in fields such as freelancing and artificial intelligence (AI). Through the Department of Youth Development and Technical Training Centers (TTCs) in every district, training is being provided across various trades, enabling participants to secure employment-both domestically and internationally-and achieve self-reliance. Earlier, he inaugurated a biogas plant as the chief guest and handed over loan cheques to five entrepreneurs.

Present on the occasion were Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner Md. Humayun Kabir, Syedpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Farah Fateha Taklima, government officials from various departments, and local political figures.
