Janmasathi (Born Together) to be screened in Patna

After receiving award for the best documentary film in the Dhaka International Film Festival, 'Janmasathi' is now going to be screened at the Bodhisattva International Film Festival in Patna.  The news was confirmed by the director of the film, Shabnam Ferdousi, she said, "Besides 'Janmasathi', three more Bangladeshi films are going to be screened in this festival."

Dhaka International Film Festival ended very recently where this documentary won the best documentary award. The disparaging attitude and condescension that war children had to suffer and the condition in which they were born following widespread rapes in 1971 are the subjects of a new documentary.

She said about her film being selected for the festival, "I was very interested to know what other foreign filmmakers and critiques say about my documentary which I made on war children. The answer from the jury was really surprising that they arranged a special screening for the documentary and some of them cried while watching. They said they are going to initiate special screening show in different countries. I was really inspired and mesmerized by the reaction."

Patna's Bodhisattva International Film Festival is going to begin on February 16. In this eight-day film festival, the other Bangladeshi movies that going to be screened are Rubaiyat Hossain directed film 'Under Construction', Tasmia Afrin Mou directed film 'Kobi Swamir Mrityur Por Amar Jobanbondi' and Khandaker Sumon directed film 'Pounopunik'.
