A large crowd of visitors was seen just two days before of conclusion of Dhaka International Trade Fair in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Friday. -Jahidul Islam
Thousands of visitors crowded the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) yesterday as it was the last public holiday since January 31 will be the concluding day of the global trade show.
Most participant companies and exhibitors are offering discounts and gifts to promote their products and boost sales. They are selling machinery, carpets, cosmetics and beauty products, electrical and electronics, jute goods, leather goods, sports goods, sanitary products, toys, ceramics, fabrics, cables, furniture, handicrafts and processed food items.
"The participant companies are taking preparation to conclude the fair. I have come here to visit deferent sites to enjoy. I will try to buy some products if I find them of any use," said Abdur Rahim, a visitor from Mirpur.
Another visitor Kamran Raza said, "Most companies are offering discounts and gifts to promote their products and boost sales." He has said DITF is the best place for him to choose desired products as many local and international companies are participating in the fair and displaying their latest collections. "In the closing days of DITF, huge visitors are coming every day," Ibrahim Hossain, a salesman of PRAN-RFL, told the Asian Age.
He has said they are displaying more than 550 products including plastic, consumer item, kitchenware, ceramics, steel, furniture, electronics, home appliances and glass products. He has also said they are offering discounts on different product for promote PRAN-RFL products. Uday Hakim, an official of WALTON, said, "Their company participates in the fair to build up relations with the local
and international customers.
The fair is an opportunity for them to show their brands." He has further said their company is offering reduction on different products including TV, freeze, laptop and cell phones. Walton has reduced prices of about 20 items of home appliances like irons, washing machines, coffee makers, electric and microwave ovens, air fryers, electric pressure cookers, electric lunch boxes, automatic voltage stabilizers, hand-press mop sets, sandwich makers, toasters, voltage protectors, vacuum flasks, water heaters and water dispensers.
The prices were reduced maximum by Tk 3,000. Besides, five percent special discount is also available at Walton Mega Pavilion.Brothers Furniture is offering 5-15 percent discounts on its products varying from sofa set, dining set, bed, chest of drawers, dressing table and bedside table.
Navana Furniture is offering 20 percent discount on its home and office furniture made of wood. The price cut is 15 percent for chairs and sofa sets, 10 percent for medical beds and 7 percent for doors.
