The permanent campus of Manarat International University (MIU) has been inaugurated at Khagan, Ashulia Model Town, at the outskirt of capital Dhaka yesterday. Lawmaker of Dhaka-19 constituency Dr Md Enamur Rahman inaugurated the permanent campus by releasing balloons and pigeons around 12:30pm as the chief guest.
In his inaugural speech Dr Enam said as per the government rules for the private universities, Manarat International University started its activities on its permanent campus this month. I hope this campus will give the students comfortable environment for learning and research.
He also said Bangladesh has achieved a remarkable progress in management and technology and it is developing by using these two elements. Private universities are the leaders of this success, he added.
MIU acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M Umar Ali presided over the inaugural program while former secretary and Chairman of MIU Trust Shah Abdul Hannan and Acting Treasurer Hafizul Islam Bhuiyan spoke, among others.
The permanent campus of MIU has been established on 10 bighas land and it gives special waiver for students of Ashulia campus. MIU is also providing transport facilities, says a media release of the university.
