Abul Hossain to meet Chinese Vice Premier Syed Abul Hossain

Former Communica-tions Minister Syed Abul Hossain is scheduled to meet Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli on Saturday at the annual conference of Boao Forum of Asia (BFA) which began in Boao, China yesterday.  This is a four days long conference where Syed Abul Hossain has joined as a delegate from Bangladesh.

Zhang Gaoli is the current first-ranked Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China and a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of  China. Syed Abul Hossain attended different business sessions and seminars hosted by Boao Forum. Participants of these seminars talked in details about ongoing and future plans of BFA. Delegates from different countries emphasized on building up BFA as a global economic power.

Syed Abul Hossain is supposed to hold meetings with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi as well as delegates from other nations who are attending this conference. More than two thousand delegates from different countries have joined this summit. President of Myanmar U Thane Sin, Cambodian Premier Hun Sen, former Japanese Prime Minister Fokuda Yasu, former President of Philippines Fidel Ramos, former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke and some other top-ranking politicians and business leaders have joined the conference.

BFA was founded in 2000 with a view to enhancing regional cooperation for economic development among Asian countries. The ongoing BFA conference title is "Globalization and Free Trade Asian Perspectives".
