It was a 'dream come true' for her. Born and brought up in Bangladesh, Jannatul Sumaiya Himi started her acting career with the upcoming Bengali movie 'Hothat dekha'. The film is directed by Reshmi Mitra. In this film debutant actress Heme shared screen with Debasree Roy, Iliyas Kanchan, Tulika Basu, and Deep Bhattacharya.
Speaking to Heme about how she bagged the movie she said, "Impress Telefilm, a Bangladesh based production house, recommended me to Reshmi Mitra Films, as it was decided to choose artists from both the countries, India and Bangladesh, the film being a joint venture initiative. I went to India and met Reshmi Di who is a wonderful person and I was selected as the lead. Sharing her experience she also added "I find myself very lucky to share screen with such experienced actors, Iliyas Kanchan and Debasree Roy, they have been very cooperative and also I have learnt a lot from them".
'Hothat Dekha' , the name of the film itself depicts the subject of the film, the story of the movie is inspired by a well known poem of Rabindranath Tagore. It is an intricate study of a man-woman relationship. The film is based on the relationship between two interesting characters that meet on a train journey after many years of their first encounter.
Boasting of Tagore's virtuous romantic prose, this could be a riveting and telling tale that could snowball into being some sort of a cultural sensation.
Ahead of the National Film Day, Heme's film, which has been produced under the banner of Impress Telefilm, was released in the countrywide cinema halls yesterday, including Jamuna Blockbuster, Basundhara Star Cineplex, Balaka Cineworld and Shyamoli in the capital.
