Imperial Hospital in Ctg signed agreement

Imperial Hospital Limited, a 350-beded multidisciplinary specialized general hospital in Chittagong, is in its final stage of completion and expected to be commissioned by the end of this year.

The Imperial Hospital Limited has signed an agreement with the VAMED, an Austrian healthcare consultancy groups on Saturday. Christofa Wigle Ar and Managing Director of Imperial Hospital Limited signed the agreement on behalf of their organizations.

The signing ceremony was chaired by M A Malek. Among others, former Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University Prof Dr Alamgir Mohammad Serajuddin, incumbent Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University Prof Dr Ifthekhar uddin Chowdhury, Dr Ohidul Alam and Chairman of the hospital Prof  Dr Rabiul Hossain addressed the inaugural function.

Addressing the function, Chairman of the hospital Prof Dr Rabiul Hossain said, the hospital and its ancillary facilities were set up on 7 acres of land at a hilly picturesque location overlooking the sea.

The architectural design and drawings were prepared by a reputed US based healthcare engineering consultant KMD. VAMED, an Austrian healthcare consultancy groups providing engineering and all technical support including selection and installation of equipments including IT system which is unique in the sense that all images and lab reports shall be automatically generated and integrated to enable the doctors to share between themselves and also globally with other institutions whenever needed.

He said, for operation and management of the hospital, initially a 5-year long agreement has been signed with VAMED Healthcare Management group in which VAMED shall deploy full time senior management team who shall assist Imperial Hospital in the use of equipments and IT system. Besides, they shall assist IHL in the selection, training of technical staff and development of systems to ensure delivery of quality service.

He said , VAMED shall also ensure day-to-day operation of the hospital and assist in technology transfer through collaboration with the leading regional and global healthcare centres.

In order to develop trained and motivated nurses and technicians, Imperial Hospital has made provision for nursing and allied health institutes along with accommodation in the campus. 10% of the hospital bed shall be reserved for indigent patients, Chairman of the hospital Professor Dr Rabiul Hossain further added.

For quick and safe transmission of critical patients, hospital has made provision of latest type ambulance fitted with all necessary life supports. Besides, the hospital has made provision for helipad service to carry patients from distant areas, he said.

The hospital has also made provision of in-campus accommodation for the convenience of patients and their attendants coming from distant areas, Rabiul Hossain also said.
