Govt gives grants to six film makers in the new fiscal year


The government is going to give grants to six filmmakers to make six films 2016-2017 fiscal years. Every year the government give grants to filmmakers to make worthy and good films. This year was not the exception.
 
Directors Tanvir Mokammel, Sohanur Rahman Sohan, Shahriar Sumit, Shabnam Ferdousi, Kamal Sarkar and Muhammad Ferdousi Alam Siddiqui received grants for film making in the year 2016-2017. This information was given on May 29 through a notification. It was said that these films were selected considering the spirit of independence and liberation war, and humanistic values.

Among the granted films, there will be six features, one children and one documentary film. Sohanur Rahman Sohan will create the children film while Mumammad Ferdousi Alam Siddiqui will create the documentary film titled 'Ekjon Marium'. The documentary is produced by Nur-e-Alam Siddiqui.

Shabnam Ferdousi was already in the discussion with her 'Jonmosathi' film, a documentary on war children of 1971. Now she is going to make a full feature film titled 'Ajab Sundor'. Produced by Samia Jaman this is going to be a fiction film. Shabnam said about receiving grant for her film that, "I wanted to make fiction film since I was 28 years. But I created documentary then. Then the plan was to create fiction film on age 40, it did not happen either. Finally I am making a feature film."

Tanvir Mokammel will make 'Rupsha Nodir Banke'. He was writing the screenplay of the film for a long time. Talking to the media, he said, "After Jibondhuli, I will make a film named Rupsha Nodir Banke. The screenplay has been written and has been submitted for the government grant." And he got the grant. The story of the film is about a leftist leader who was killed by Razakars in 1971.

Kamal Sarker will make 'Daymukti' under Jasim Uddin's production while Rezwan Shahriar Sumit will make 'Nonajoler Kabbyo.'
