Rome's Karawan Fest to open with Matir Projar Deshe

Bangladeshi feature film Matir Projar Deshe (Kingdom of Clay Subjects) directed by Bijon Imtiaz, has been selected as the opening film at the 6th edition of Karawan Fest in Rome, Italy, to be held from today (June 6) to June 11.

According to a source, the opening event of the festival will be entirely dedicated to Bangladesh, with the screening of Kingdom of Clay Subjects and performances by Bangladeshi artistes .



The film's creative producer, Arifur Rahman, will be present on the occasion of the film's European premier.The 88-minute film, which is yet to be released in Bangladesh, casts Anindo, Sheuli, Reekita Nondine Shimu, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Rokeya Prachy, M A Shakil, Chinmoyee Gupta, Iqbal Hossain, Abdullah Rana, Ramiz Raju and Kochi Khondokar.

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki directed Television will also be screened at the film festival. Karawan Fest is one of the earliest film festivals, which is dedicated to the films with the theme of immigration, integration and intermingling of colors, narrated in a non-dramatic way.
