Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artist and eminent singer Abdul Jabbar died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment with multiple health complications. Mohammed Abdul Jabbar was a Bangladeshi singer, who reached the pinnacle of fame when he sang 'Salam Salam Hazar Salam' and 'O re Neel Dariya'.

He became an enlisted singer on the radio in 1958 and on TV in 1964. He sang patriotic songs during the independence war of 1971 and also for playback. Some of his playback songs are Ore Neel Daria, Du Jahaner Malik Tumi, Mukh Dekhe Bhul Korona, and others.

His patriotic songs were broadcast through Kalurghat radio station (known as Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra) in 1971, a radio station which inspired Bangladeshi Mukti Bahini (freedom-fighters) to fight hard against Pakistan Army.

1. Salam Salam Hajar Salam
The song was first broadcasted by the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra during Liberation War. Written by Fazal A Khoda, Abdul Jabbar himself tuned the song and he was the first one who sang the song. One of the best song of Abdul Jabbar, this song inspired thousands of Bengalis during Liberation War.

2. Tumi ki dekhechho kobhu jiboner porajoy

Abdul Jabbar's this song will never lose its appeal. The song that Abdul Jabbar sang for 1968's famous film Etotuku Asha, got enlisted as the best Bengali songs in the BBC's survey. Directed by Narayan Ghosh Mita, Etotuku Asha starred recently demised Nayak Raj Razzak, Sujata, Hasmot, Altaf and many others.

3. Ore neel doriya

This song was first sung for 1978's popular film Sareng Bou. The song, lip-synced by Farook, is still popular among audiences. After releasing the move, the song became very popular.

4. Pich Dhala Ei Poth

This song was Razzak-Babita starred Pich Dhala Path's most popular song. With this song, Abdul Jabbar will live forever among audience's heart. Tuned by Rabin Ghosh and written by Jaman Chowdhury, the way Abdul Jabbar sang the song touched many people's heart. Still young singers sing this song.

5. Ek buk jwala niye bandhu tumi

This song was another popular one of Abdul Jabbar. The song was first sung for 1975's film Mastan. Written by Ahmad Jaman Chowdhury and tuned by Azad Rahman, this song is still popular among audience.

6. Shotru Tumi Bondhu Tumi

Sung by Abdul Jabbar, this song from Razzak-Shabana starrer film Anurag (1979) was popular because of his magical tone. It won't be able to find an audience that was not impressed by the tunes of this melodious tune.

7. Biday Dao Go Bondhu Tomra This song, sung by Abdul Jabbar magical tone, will be remembered forever because of its lyrics. Among his other playback songs, this particular track has a certain appeal.
