Manna Film Festival on RTV underway

In order to pay a tribute to the lost superstar of Dhallywood Manna, private television channel RTV has organized a film festival in his honor.

The channel will air seven of the demised actor's films as part of the festival that started from October 28.  Manna-starrer films that will air include Edesh Kar, Dhongsho, Dui Bodhu Ek Swami, Ek Rokha, Teji Sontan, Ami Ekai Eksho and Shesh Juddho.

The films will be aired everyday at 12.20pm. The Manna Film Festival will end on November 3.SM Aslam Talukder, better known by his stage name as Manna, was a widely popular film actor and producer.

The Bangladeshi superstar, who dominated the country's film industry, was an action hero for more than two decades. The actor died from a heart attack in 2008.

Manna acted in more than two hundreds films throughout his career. He earned the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in the film Bir Soinik (2003).

The veteran actor was also the secretary general of the Bangladesh Film Actors Association, where he played a significant role in the campaign against "vulgarity, obscenity and piracy" in Bangladeshi films.
