Railway station quarter occupied by influentials

The illegal possession of Natore railway station land is nothing new. The staff quarters of the Natore railway are now occupied by the drug smugglers. After long, modernization of the railway station of Natore continued but there was no move to rescue the staff quarters of the officers and employees who were occupied. All those who have been illegally occupied in the quarter, now enjoy afloat drug.

In the concerned division of the railway station, it is discovered that at the south-east corner of the station platform was the residence of the railway staff. At that quarter, there were two station master, TC (ticket collector), booking clerk and one Porter family. Officials of the Natore Railway station lived in the 1980's for the first time.

 In the 90's, many of the officials went away because of leaving the building. Some people are transferred to another station; they also leave quarters and go to workplaces with the family. Later, the quota of railway quarters remained vacant due to locals being transferred to Natore Station.

Nobody raised the building. In this opportunity, the unprotected buildings are occupied by the local opportunists who occupy political influence. Some of them used the front buildings and as business establishments. After breaking the building and the wall, they built overnight structures and established themselves as a business organization.

 In the meantime, the doors and windows of the unprotected buildings are being stolen overnight, valuable material from the building. As a result, they gradually become ineligible for use.

Announcing the abandonment of the railway division building, members of the crime cell, including drug addicts, took shelter in the buildings. Now-a-days it is used as CNG-operated three-wheeler auto garage. There is no initiative to remedy the related departments.

Locals said on condition of anonymity, two out-of-the-three CNG-operated three-wheeler auto rickshaws were seen in front of this building, but the gambling and drug addiction were found in front of them.

This anarchy happens in the management of the police. After making the store lessons in front of this staff quarter, these misdeeds are easily managed within the abandoned Quarter. No one dares to protest this because of the threat of bullying.

Locals said almost all the lands of the two-storey railway estate of Natore railway station have been occupied by influential people. In addition to the entrance and departure route of the station, there was a raw market run by the municipality. At the same time, the place of railway is in possession of auto rickshaws and rickshaws. As a result, train passengers have to go to the station and get screwed with the misery during the departure.

Ashok Kumar Chakraborty, station master of Natore Railway Station, admitted that illegal occupation of the area has been informed in many cases. Senior Assistant Engineer Narayan Prakash Sarker of Santahar Zone of Westarn Railway acknowledged the possession of most of the land and said several installations and land leased in the adjacent railway track of Natore Rail Station.

On the other hand, some of the unorganized areas were released from some occupation. But after the team went to the team, it was back to the previous state. Already, on the western side of Natore rail station, publicly selling and selling drugs was done. It was evicted by joint operation. Besides, a few rounds of notice were issued to the occupiers of the illegal occupation.

The letter was given to the municipality several times. But the market is being set up again. The revenue department of the railway will soon launch a drive to liberate this illegal occupation.
