A nation's own culture is the true identity of its ethnicity. Own culture is the heritage of that nation. The millennial Bengali nation's culture carries our identity. Village is the main background of the culture of the Bengali nation. Millennial rural culture is our heritage.
In this digital age, villages are no longer villages under the influence of modernization and globalization. In the evolution of time and the influence of sky culture, our rural culture is under threat. Currently not found in the village, that traditional rural culture.
Already in the millennium, much of the Bengali culture is on its way to extinction, and much of it is almost extinct. Many of the traditional folklore games are now almost extinct. We don't have a lot of headaches about these things. Although traditional folklore of Bengali culture is found in the book, most of the games are not in circulation. There is not such an initiative in the development of the folklore of thousands of Bengali cultures, both public and private.
When our neighbors look at India, it can be seen that they organize various competitive events privately, with the help of the government, to popularize their rural traditional games to a new generation. The most notable of these are kabaddi, wrestling, horse racing, sticks play, cock fighting, bull fighting, kite flying.
These events are broadcast live on their various TV channels. This creates a new generation of interest in the game. They are also taught about the traditional sport of self-culture in their primary and secondary education systems. They are also introduced to the game by arranging special assignments and practical classes. There is no substitute for sports in the mindful development of children and adolescents. However, our country is completely the opposite.
Previously, though some importance was given to sports in the primary and secondary education system, it is no longer present. Officially, some games have a small amount of patronage, but the expansion of games is negligible. The names of the traditional folklore of Bengali culture are found in the pages of the book but not practiced. Frankly, nobody's really interested in our traditional folk games.
Traditional rural folk games of Bengali culture include Kutakut, Curry game, Ludu, Sat Chara, Kabadi, Ross-Kos, Kick-turning, Dice game, Danguli, Gollachut, Bauchi, Ekka-dokka, Eitching-Beeching, Elating- Belating, Dariabanda, Kanamach, Pole game, sixteen twins, nuance game, wrestling game, birdwatching, frog marriages, sticks game, cock fighting, bull fighting, horse racing, boat racing, wrestling etc. Fear is significant. These games were once very popular and popular. There are also many more rural folk games. At present, most of these games are almost extinct due to the absence of these games.
Our new generation entertains at home playing modern games of technology and watching cartoons. They have nothing to do with rural traditional folklore. Most urban kids do not even know the names of these games. Village kids are busy with the modern game of technology just like urban kids. They too have moved away from playing folk. If this continues, the traditional folklore of millennial Bengali culture will disappear in the near future.
Nowadays our traditional folk game is much more fun than modern technology, computer or mobile games and foreign games played in the country. Most of our rural folk plays have many fun rhythms and songs. If these games can be presented to a new generation beautifully, they will be easily attracted to the games and exported to live entertainment. To save rural traditional folk games, take some initiatives right now. Students of the new generation of primary or kindergarten schools can be involved with rural traditional folk play.
Therefore, the school authorities should come forward. I had personally discussed this with some educational institutions. I was giving some tips to save traditional folk games. The school authorities praised my advice, but no one took any initiative. Very disappointed I went to a director of the Children's Academy and discussed this in detail. He applauded me, that they would take initiative. Then I failed to contact him two more times about this.
The Ministry of Culture's attention to this matter is most important. The Ministry of Culture can present the traditional folklore of our rural culture in a very beautiful and attractive way to a new generation with a variety of initiatives. The Ministry of Education can also come forward in this regard. Rural folklore can provide guidance on how games are practiced at the school level. Mandatory instruction can be given to keep traditional folk games in the annual sports competition in each school.
Besides, various private organizations and organizations of the country can come forward. The traditional rural folk of millennial Bengali culture can organize a variety of competitive events with games. We see organizing various talent based events, including songs, dancing, acting, funded by different institutions in the country. The traditional folklore of Bengali culture will be popular again if you organize some events like this.
Our new generation will be drawn to the traditional game of indigenous culture as well as the foreign game. This will bring back the traditional folklore of rural folklore. After all, this country is our heritage and the folk culture of the country is our heritage. If I love the country, then I will love the local culture. It is from that love that we have to come forward to preserve the rural folk traditions of Bengali culture.
