Mosharraf Karim (K M Mosharraf Hossain) was born on August 22, 1972. Mosharraf generally acts more frequently in dramas and drama serials, than in films. His dramas are also very notable, as well as the handful of films he has acted, including the award winning Third Person Singular Number, Jalal Er Golpo.
Karim expressed his acting skill developed through his early work in the school theater. In 1986, Karim joined the theater troupe 'Nattokendro' and worked for 15 years. After over a decade in theater, Karim emerged on the small screen in 1999, with the single-episode TV play 'Atithi', directed by Ferdous Hasan and aired on Channel-i. In 2004 he played two important roles in two different TV works. One of those roles included the popular telefilm 'Kyarom', where he performed with co-artist Nusrat Imroz Tisha. In 2009, he acted in his first film 'Third Person Singular Number', with co-artist Tisha. He acted in his first drama serial 420 aired on Channel-i. After this, he worked in the two drama serials- Vober Hat and Ghor Kutum. Karim also acted with Bengali film 'Daruchini Dwip' directed by Toukir Ahmed. Mosharraf Karim got the Best Actor award at 19th Avanca International Film Festival (Portugal). He is one of the the highest winner of Meril Prothom Alo Award as a TV Actor. This award is Bangladesh's equivalent to America's Academy Awards. He got Meril Prothom Alo Award (Critics Choice in 2008, 2012 & 2014) and Meril Prothom Alo Award (Public Choice) in 2009, 2011, 2013 & 2014. He also was a winner of Tenasinas Award of 2012 in the Best Actor category and the winner of Best Actor category at 10th & 15th CJFB (cultural journalists' forum of Bangladesh) Award. With his versatile way of acting, Mosharraf has created a new dimension in Bengali TV dramas. Especially through his character Sikandar Box, he has created a new trend of acting, promoting a native Bengali tone adopted by young actors and YouTubers all across the country. Mosharraf is the new definition of Fun in the dictionary of Bengali TV dramas. He never needed to be the most 'Good Looking Guy' on the TV right now, but take a note, in case of 'richness' in acting he has gone far ahead from all his contemporary actors.
