Student-teacher relationship -- An analysis

Relationship between teachers and students is always regarded as one of the basic ingredients of India's social and cultural life. It is for quite a long time that this concept was highlighted by our revered parents which are still glaringly highlighted. Teachers in modern era are well revered as they occupy an important place in building up of developed societies not only in India but also in Bangladesh, other countries of South Asia as well in other parts of the globe.

At the present generation, the relationship between a teacher and a pupil has put a serious question mark that sometimes it degrades in such a state of affairs that our pride and prestige about this pertinent issue goes deeply down the line which in the ultimate run up to the matter remains covered under the debris.

The time has come when we must aim to develop pleasant relations between teachers and taught so that our academic lives and others remain soothing and transparent in the days to come in our life. There was a time when the relationship between teachers and students was very much like parents and children or elder brother and younger brother but what we are witnessing stands extremely dismal and sorrowful.

The influence of dastard politics has been responsible to a greater extent which civil societies of India are always pleading to the modern generations about these grim scenarios like scuffling between teachers and taught or contrarily unethical acts by some unscrupulous teachers of India. So in the subsequent paragraphs it is my humble endeavor to explore how the age-old cordial relations between teachers and student should make a comeback so that academic disciplines once again reappear on the surface.

How to develop relationship between teacher and students?
Relationship between teachers and students are always given prime importance since time immemorial in India. In the ancient times teachers used to hold classes under banyan trees in order to develop their students to nature so that concerned ones has inclination towards nature. This kind of temperament of teachers bears special significance as they dearly play the role of parents towards students. During school life in both primary level as well as that of in higher level role of both of them stands as paramount importance. Otherwise objectives would not be realized at all.

In the modern era in Indian context we find that relationship between students and teachers are always given to priority. The competition in the modern eras are quite high hence it is the prime duties of both students and teachers to slog in such a manner so that students perform much better in their academic lives so that they get a lucrative job in their later life. Alternatively from the student's side they must pay their due obeisance towards their teachers in order to be well place in everybody's life. Still there are some common thumb rules existing thereby relationship between teachers and students are developed to dizzy heights. Some of them are stated as follow:

*   Teachers in schools, colleges and universities must hail from prestigious backgrounds.
*    Teachers should be always of a humble demeanor.

When students commit any error in schools, colleges and sometimes it is the role of prolific teachers to rectify their students in such a manner so that students can analyze their mistakes from close quarters.  We are aware of so many teachers that in times of need they are also instrumental in character building just like parents.

Even counseling psychologists always advises the students as well as that of teachers that relationship between each other should remain transparent throughout the lives. Thus pleasant relationship between teachers and students should remain throughout our lives. This is because our longevity in this eternity always remains uncertain.

So, it is always advisable that as long as students and teachers are alive we should aim to maintain pleasant relations with our teachers even if we part relationship with academic milieus. Cordial relations between teachers and students will always remain as cakewalk for our betterment in professional lives which might not be denied at all.
