Barrister Mainul's remarks on Bangabandhu strongly reacted
Awami League is sparking over Barrister Mainul Hosein's comments on Bangabandhu.  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other AL top leaders have strongly reacted over the comments he made in a recent TV talk-show.  AL leaders and policy makers have also showed deep concern over dramatic comeback of catalysts of 1/11 caretaker government backed by the army and their recent mysterious activities. On last Friday, AL Nomination Board chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sat for selection of UP/Pauroshava candidates in the upcoming UP polls. The AL leaders discussed unscheduled recent activities of key players of the one-eleven caretaker government in the meeting.
The discussion was mainly revolved over the 1/11 caretaker government's advisor Barrister Mainul Hosein's comments which he made in a TV talk-show recently. AL president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the meeting that discussed extempore Mainul Hosein's controversial role in the Liberation War and reason of his getting nomination from AL in the 1973 parliamentary elections.
AL leaders have reacted over Mainul Hosein's comments in two TV talk shows and said that those were 'objectionable'.  Several leaders have angrily reacted on the issue and said, key-players of the one-eleven caretaker government have been reactivating now very surprisingly.  Some of them have told to keep close eyes on them. Barrister Mainul Hosein was one of the key-players of the one-eleven, leaders said in the meeting. He was also related to the 'minus two' formula. He is not hesitating even to make comments on Bangabandhu now.

Some leaders have noticed his controversial role during the liberation war. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina did not make any comment in an elaborate manner but said, Bangabandhu did not want to give nomination to Barrister Mainul Hosein to run 1973 parliamentary election for his controversial role during the liberation war. But Bangabandhu gave him nomination upon his (Mainul Hosein) mother's request. Three among the leaders attended the meeting said to media, Mainul Hosein made objectionable remarks over the tragic incidents of 15 August 1975 in a private TV channel's talk-show on last Thursday.

Mainul Hosein said in the talk-show, "Bangabandhu had died. There was no benefit of crying in the streets. How the scope was created. I was shocked over the death of Bangabandhu. It was Friday. I drove down my car alone. I could not even imagine that Bangabandhu would die but no single incidence of clash/riot would occur. I was alone. There was all quiet on the streets. After going back home I asked my wife, 'if I am not wrong - it seems a sense of relief prevails'. "

AL leaders who were present in the meeting said, Mainul Hosein severely criticized politics and politicians including the present government with harsh language. He blamed politicians for the creation of one-eleven and at the same time, he put arguments in favour of one-eleven government. Daily Star editor Mahfuz Anam's role was also discussed in the meeting. Tofayel Ahmed, Obaidul Quader, Professor Dr Alauddin Ahmed, Rashidul Alam, Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Lf. Col (Retd) Farook Khan, Dr. Abdur Razzak, Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Dr. Abdus Sobhan Golap and Advocate Abdul Mannan Khan were present in the meeting.

Barrister Mainul Hosein said to the media, when he was contacted, "Sheikh Shaib used to see me like his son. But what I have said, I have said rightly. May be my language was not polished. But it was the fact that after his (Bangabandhu) death no one had come to the street. That surprised me. Bu I felt sad, too. I thought that movement should be there. But nothing happened. No one came on to the street. I did not see any anger. Those who are crying now for Bangabandhu, I had not seen anyone of them crying on that very day. Now, whoever wants can think on his/her own way over my comments, but I will not go for any debate."
