In 2019, about 100 people were died in 60 several incidents. One of the reasons for this is the lack of caution in the use of gas cylinders. How to use gas cylinders or the need to keep doors and windows open while using these cylinder is not known to many people.
Our lives are insecure today for various reasons. With the passage of civilization, human life is becoming more and more insecure. But people are trying hard to make life safe and easy. In the last two decades, CNG-powered vehicles have become very popular among the people of daily life. Most people use to reach their destination quickly and safely. According to the International Safety Standards, each CNG gas cylinder is required to be retested for five consecutive years, but this is not being complied with.
As a result, the risk to the lives of safe passengers is increasing. New doubts have been added to people's lives. New dangers are coming into the lives of people who have become insecure. People's interest in cylinder gas is increasing in the country. Everyone is leaning towards cylinder gas to make life a little easier. Retailers and users are not aware of the rules for proper maintenance of its cylinders. Many people who use it at home are not careful.
According to media reports, 29 companies, including government companies, are currently approved for importing, stocking and distributing LPG in the country. There are 3,000 distributors and 38,000 retailers for 38 lakh customers. Annual LPG consumption is about one lakh tons. 98 percent of it comes from the private sector.
Demand for LP gas is expected to reach 1.8 million tonnes by 2025 and 2.5 million tonnes by 2030. It is known that every five years, a report is to be submitted to the Department of Explosives after inspecting the cylinders installed in the vehicles. However, this rule is not being followed properly in the case of all vehicles. As a result, cars are running on the road with risk. Which no one understood.
The issue comes to the fore when the accident happens. In many cases, even if the gas comes out somehow, you do not understand. Moreover, due to the confined condition, the gas cannot get out. As a result, the risk is increasing. And this is what is causing the disaster. Every year there are casualties due to cylinder explosion. We need to be more vigilant about this as the demand for cylinder gas increases.
A cylinder has a fixed expiration date. The cylinder is damaged as a result of use in the retail stage. This is making the use of cylinders risky. Private companies should ensure after sales service. As a result, it is necessary to verify how long it can be used and cancel it. This needs further observation. Care should be taken to ensure that defective, damaged or expired cylinders are not in the market at all. We also need to be careful.
If the door or window of the house where the cylinder is used is closed, it should be opened at least ten minutes before use. Even if the gas is released in some way, it can be released.
