Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: A Dynamic Public Figure during Pre-Independent India

 

Every year during English calendar month in its 23rd day entire citizens of India celebrate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose with a poignant mental makeup. On the 23rd day of said month 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is equally well revered in Bangladesh too. Even in the faculties of humanities, we find that the teachers of history, political science and international relations do profound  study upon  Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Now coming to Indian aspect the memories and soul of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is dearly felt by all his ardent admirers of Kolkata as well as in other parts of India. During the freedom struggle by all our freedom fighters of undivided India including Netaji the erudite citizens of those periods of time deeply felt from their heart and mind that Subhas Chandra Bose will one day steer Independent India to dazzling heights. What was not to be in one such Congress sessions during the period of undivided India the way Netaji was sidetracked from Congress party which ultimately paves the way towards bifurcation of Independent India, into two parts, India and Pakistan, later on Independent Pakistan was further separated from East Pakistan when the later became Independent and was named as Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. Netaji prior to Indian Independence was to form the said nation as a classless society and socialism should be at its highest echelons. It was largely our cruel destiny that the citizens of this vast nation India will be deprived of the cleanest and transparent administrative services from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The reason behind it was that some unscrupulous political forces who were chiefly responsible for driving out Netaji from the mainstream of Indian political forces during post Independent India. This had casted poignant feelings upon transparent, rational minded and analytical citizens of undivided India during pre-independence period. Anyhow quite long periods and decades have elapsed since then and India is now on the threshold of decades of innovations and advancement. Thus in the subsequent paragraph it is my humble task to introspect deeply that why Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose should be referred to as dynamic public figure during pre-independence days as well as our phases of freedom struggle.

It is from now onwards within a span of seven months Independent India is completing seven months of her independence from the clutches of colonial tyranny. Every year Indian citizens celebrate Independence Day amidst the specter of ebullience and gaiety. The moot point which very much strikes our mind is that are we truly independent in its real sense of the term. To answer to it is a tough task to find real answer. In this regard we dearly find the loss of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose who was a dynamic figure during pre-independence days. The way our social and political scenes are heading for a disastrous situations hence we find that India is in a state of utterly abysmal situations where we find that one sections of Indian populaces are getting more richer but creamy layers of our citizens are in utter quandary. Richer sections of Indians are getting richer but poorer sections are becoming poorer. In this regard I have a humble request to my revered readers that if my views sound derogatory then I remain ever apologetic. Coming back to my relevance of this column it can be interpreted as such that absence of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is being badly felt by Indians. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had such a prolific dynamism which was not taken up in its positive stance by some sections of our political forces in those days. That was why in such Congress sessions in the year 1938 he was so badly hooted out which signaled the ways towards the partition of India in the year 1947 on August 15, when the country achieved Independence. In this regard it would be extremely unethical in not mentioning the name of Shere Bangla Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque. It was Shere Bangla who was very cordial and intimate with Netaji and both were equivalent in terms of mental makeup. Both preferred to have united Bengal which should be devoid of partition of Bengal on the aftermath of Indian Independence. Now we are in such a situation and moment of time where we find economic, social and political situations are in total shambles. Chunk of Indian citizens don't have any positive mental awareness. There have been too much of auras meaning where India is heading for. Only rational and analytical minded citizens could gel properly what is the most critical situations of India at present. Despite the advancement in diverse fields we find that basic values are not yet polished off, discriminations between different sections of societies and corruptions in various fields have cropped up on account of which rational and transparent minded citizens of India deeply lament the absence of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose from our mind and body.

Mr Justice Manoj Mukherjee Commission:

Mr Justice Manoj Mukherjee Commission which was set up in the year 1999 during the regime of erstwhile Congress regime found out from the commission report  that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose died of some other reason not due to air crash at Taihoko in the year 1945. The report was later on quashed off by the Congress government of those days thereby did not throw any light about the reasons for his sudden disappearance.

Legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in Bangladesh:

In Bangladesh at the history department of Dhaka University, Dhaka Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is till date deeply revered by the scholars of the department of history, political and international relations. The scholars opine jointly that legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is till date deeply relevant within our societies. His smiling and amiable demeanors are still sources of inspirations and motivations to modern public figures, scholars as well as public figures of Bangladesh.

The untold story of an inconvenient nationalist

Summing up my above discourse one point becomes crystal clear in our mind that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is till date deeply vivid in our memory. His deep thoughts are still vivid upon the threshold of our memories but hardly Indian citizens think about him. Interesting point to be noted is that Netaji is deeply remembered by intelligentsias of Bangladesh and India as because they prefer to have stable democratic setup, economic development as well as social cum cultural upliftment. It is interesting to be noted that Netaji was deeply cordial with Rabindra Nath Tagore and other nationalist leaders of his days. It is all our sincerest hopes and desires on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose all his golden and noble legacies should be brought to light among the masses of India and Bangladesh. This means that we could implant some of his noble ideas for the social, cultural and economic development of both nations.
