August 7 was 22 Shravan in Bengal. At the time of departure of poet Rabindranath Tagore.Rabindranath Tagore is like an institution. Poetry, songs and stories were not in any direction, his contribution was small. People leave behind memories. The saying that deeds make a person remember for life is absolutely true in the case of Rabindranath Tagore. The poet was given oxygen around 9 am. But even that was of no use. Breathing gradually becomes weaker. It stopped at around 12 noon. Farewell to Rabindraunit. Thakurbari became a public forest that day.Everyone gathered in the mourning procession.
In the last days of his life, Kabiguru was afflicted with several illnesses. Various medicines were not working. At that time he was in ShantiNiketan. Doctors decided to perform surgery to relieve the disease. But Kabiguru did not like it at all. He said, 'People have to die one day. One way or another this body has to end, no matter how it ends. What is the need of falsely tearing it to shreds?' But he is suffering from unbearable pain. The doctors were of the opinion that surgery must be done on the body to alleviate it. At last the poet was persuaded and brought to Calcutta. And that was the last time Rabindranath left Santiniketan. On July 25, 1941, Rabindranath Tagore was brought to Jorasanko's house. He had to be taken to the second floor on a stretcher as he was unable to walk. Rabindranath Tagore was very happy to have his people there. But that cheerfulness did not last long. But the dead Rabindranath is more vocal than the living Rabindranath. Rabindra is doing research on his poems and works. Fullness is coming back.
25 Baisakh, the birth of world poet Rabindranath Tagore.Rabindranath was born in a rich and noble family on 25 Baisakh of Bangabd 1268 (May 7, 1861) in the Tagore family of Jorasanko, Calcutta. Mother Saradasundari Devi and father famous zamindar and Brahmin guru Devendranath Tagore. This talented poet started writing poetry at the age of 8. Rabindranath Tagore lost his mother in 1875 when he was only 14 years old. Father Devendranath used to spend most of the year outside Calcutta due to his travel addiction. Therefore, Rabindranath spent his childhood under the discipline of servants despite being the son of a wealthy family. In his childhood, he studied at Kolkata's Oriental Seminary, Normal School, Bengal Academy and St. Xavier's Collegiate School. As a child, he felt more comfortable in the natural surroundings at Jorasanko's house or in the gardens of Bolpur and Panihati.
In 1878 he went to England to study barrister. There he attended a public school in Brighton. In 1879, he started studying law at University College London. After spending about a year and a half in England, he returned home in 1880 without taking any degree. He got married to Bhavatarini in 1883. Bhavatarini was named Mrinalini Devi in her married life. Meanwhile, his literary practice continued. From 1891 Rabindranath started overseeing the zamindari of Nadia, Pabna, Rajshahi and Orissa on the orders of his father. He spent a long time in the Kuthibari of Shilaidah in Kushtia. In 1901, Rabindranath and his family left Shilaidah for ShantiNiketan on the outskirts of Bolpur town in Birbhum district.
He is the first shaper of many things in Bengali language and literature. A new era in Bengali literature was created by his hands. Ravithaku, the pioneer of modernizing Bengali prose, is also the father of short stories. Stories, novels, poems, essays, new tunes and lyrics of strange songs, essays full of philosophical thoughts, even in painting, Rabindranath is eternal, immortal. Even today, Rabindranath is the main resource for the formation of our mentality, the discovery of consciousness. Besides our national anthem, we also got the spelling of the name 'Bangladesh' from him. Rabindranath's poems and songs are inextricably linked with the Bengali lifestyle. He has given Bengali literature a special status in the court of the world.
He was the first Asian to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his poem 'Gitanjali'. But in 2004, mysteriously, at least half a hundred valuable things used by the poet were stolen along with the 'Nobel Medal'. In this regard, almost all the intelligence agencies of India could not solve the theft. The day of theft was Wednesday, March 25, 2004, a holiday of ShantiNiketan. The theft was caught when RabindraBhavan was opened on Thursday. But the police are not sure how it was stolen. The thieves broke in before VisvaBharati closed on Tuesday. Goods were moved throughout the night. Thieves broke the rear window of RabindraBhavan, broken grill was found under the wall. It is believed that the thief removed the goods through that window. Santiniketan and VisvaBharati University were built with the aim of developing the country's education system. He was also a social reformer.
He took various initiatives for the development of agriculture with the aim of economic emancipation of the poor people of the rural society. Cultivation of potato, corn etc. started in Bengal under his initiative. He started the work of Krishi Bank with the money of Nobel Prize to give loans to poor farmers. He took to the streets along with Hindus and Muslims in the Rakhibandhan program to demand the cancellation of the partition of Bengal. In 1915, the British government awarded him the title of 'Knight', but he refused it in protest against the brutal massacre of the British forces at JallianwalaBagh in Punjab in 1919.
To survive in life requires knowledge, intelligence, patience and courage. Humanity, intrinsic motivation and self-confidence are required. Rabindranath Tagore's message of humanity is to show the way to move forward by making people brave and patient, where an epidemic like Corona has engulfed the world at this critical juncture of the nation. Even though the mortal body is gone, Kabiguru is present and will remain among us in his work. His creations are deeply embedded in the daily life of Bengalis. In the words of the poet, it can be said, 'I die in life and get life as if in death.'If I find a place in this sun, in this blossoming ear/life in the heart. That day, even though the body is gone, in joy, in pain, in betrayal, Rabindranath Tagore is still the main source of motivation for Bengalis.
Rabindranath's 52 books of poetry, 38 plays, 13 novels, 36 essays and other prose collections were published during his lifetime and immediately after his death. A total of 95 of his short stories and 1915 songs have been included in collections of stories and hymns respectively. All his works are in RabindraRachnaboli in 32 volumes. Which is still spreading rumors. Even today it gives motivation to the unmotivated, courage to the timid.
Rabindranath's far-reaching thinking makes him a visionary; The expression of his philosophy, values and mentality does not seem to happen in the life of any Bengali. Equally relevant in Rabindranath Amado's life today; This is easily conceivable and considered because one cannot become a complete Bengali without him. If we want to become real Bengalis, we have to gradually accept Rabindranath; Where is he?
There is no branch of Bengali literature where the magic hand of Rabindranath has not been touched except the epics. He is our best refuge in everything from birth to death, from death to birth, from sorrow to joy, from sorrow to self-expression. Rabindranath stepped on the path of the big world many times in his life, but in the end he got Swamy by stepping on the soil of Bengal, so he said my name - be known as this / I am your people / nothing else / let this be the last identity! Rabindranath's songs and poetry were a great inspiration from the language movement to the freedom struggle of 1971. Very few poets in the world have been able to influence the national freedom struggle of a country in such a way. Bengali, Bengalis and Rabindranath are tied together in one thread.
The world is a tough battlefield. In this battleground only man is truly death after birth. And that which lies between this birth and death is karma. Existence is based on action. Rabindranath Tagore is immortal even today in such a way. He is a bright star of Bengali literature. There is no field of literature where he did not walk clearly. Literature is enriched by his hands full of waste. This immortal creation of Rabindranath has been placed in the court of the world in a unique status.
In today's age where a good poet is hard to come by, Rabindranath is a leading Bengali poet, novelist, composer, dramatist, painter, short story writer, essayist, actor, vocalist and philosopher. Those who have given priority to action in the world have become immortal. They are famous even in death. They have no death. Even though more than 150 years have passed, Ravi Tagore in Bengali Manse is still as bright as the day, his rays are always dimmed. Even today his writing adds life to Sonar Bengali.
