EC Alamgir guarantees fair election

 
Election Commissioner Md. Alamgir has said that no matter whether a partisan or non-partisan government is in power, the Election Commission will organize the upcoming election in a free, fair and impartial way.

Md Alamgir made the above remark on Thursday while speaking to journalists. He said, "We will do our job honestly and neutrally."
Md. Alamgir further said, "In most of the countries elections are held under partisan governments. It depends on the capability of the election commissions. We are firmly determined to carry out the next polls in a perfect way."

An interim election-time government has been a heated issue during last one decade. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has meanwhile said that they will not join any election under the Awami League government. On the other hand, Awami League has said that the election will be held under the Election Commission, not under the ruling party.Md. Alamgir stated that the Election Commission has nothing to do to resolve the dispute between Awami League and BNP over the point of caretaker government.
