Overcoming the Ageing Phase of Life

Overcoming the Ageing Phase of Life

Ageing phase is the most inevitable phase of our life. Human beings having born in this world ultimately have to step into ageing phase of life. Those who are sporting and upright in life, they accept this phase gracefully. Those not able to accept it, they suffer from various reversal of life. That is why it is always advisable to the entire humanity, that we should remain calm, cool and soothing in our life. Then it is the only way round when we will be in a position to counteract any unforeseen situations of life. Not only have the common citizens, along with us Great persons on earth are also in the midst of ageing phase of life. In this regard, we should balance our lifecycle in such a manner then it becomes easier for us too adapt to changing scenes in our life.

When we give birth to our children, then multiple responsibilities cast   upon us. What does it indicate? It indicates that we should groom our child in such a manner, so that when parents get aged, children should look after them nicely and cordially.

Again one point should be borne in our mind that we should also behave well with our parents affectionately, so that new parent’s culture is transmitted to our child to learn positives of life.

In this regard, counselling psychologists play prolific roles for the benefit of ageing citizens. They always advise to us that whenever we become aged we should accept this phase gracefully. There are lot of things to be done when we become aged. Thus in the subsequent paragraph it is my earnest endeavour to find out various ways on how humanity can overcome ageing phase of life.

Getting aged or becoming aged is the most inevitable phase of our life. There are some sections of citizens who become terribly upset in becoming aged. On being aged there are many citizens who become terribly sick. As per doctors view we should not be of such.  We should rather be more confident and brave in our life, so that in our aged life, we should not at all feel nervous.

People from various walks of life will become aged in a lifetime. That should be treated as part of life. We should not be upset and crestfallen. Rather with courage and determination we should aim to overcome this ageing phase of our life. There are in fact various ways to overcome ageing phase of life. In the countries under Europe and American continents, citizens have the natural adaptive capacity to accept ageing phase of life with dignity and humility. But in countries under South Asian Sub-Continent, we find the scenarios are totally reversed.

In context to my column, this writer from Kolkata, India, decides to focus upon two closer and cordial nations of South Asian Sub-Continent, India and Bangladesh. Both nations being sovereign and independent, but from social point of view, it is absolutely identical. In this ageing phase of human life, aged persons of India and Bangladesh, become terribly upset on becoming aged. Whenever the ageing issue comes up, we find that salaried classes become badly upset and crestfallen. But professionals like teachers, lawyers, management consultants, doctors and writers all accept the ageing phase of life with grace and dignity. If I add little bit of statistical data in my piece, then it is hoped will look more attractive.

In India, as per the year 2019 data available with me, it is found that there are 139 million people living in this vast nation. All are aged above sixty years of age, which is approximately 10% of the total population. As per the foresightedness of Indian demographers, I find that by the year 2050 an approximately 319 people will be above the age group of 60 years or more. Statistics of the current year is not available with me. Hence unable to provide anything to my elite readers.

In Bangladesh, out of the total population of that nation, an approximately 6% of the total population are aged above 65 years.
In India, under exceptional circumstances, it is found that there are many aged persons of the nation find out various ways to spend their aged life. Among all the ways some of the major ones are stated as such,
Reading books in English and various other mother languages.

Listening to popular music in mother as well as English languages.
Trying to be more active and agile to overcome ageing phase of life.
Getting involved into new hobbies to overcome the gluttony of ageing phase of life.
Discovering new cuisines to practice the art of culinary habits.
Developing gardening habits to get acclimatised to nature.
Getting involved into various kind of sports.

Socialising with friends from diverse occupations and finally getting engrossed in various movies.
Most of the Indian citizen become involved into the above activities, excepting few who become frustrated and crestfallen with ageing phase of life.
In Bangladesh, it is found that aged persons are involved into various kinds of activities. Through various kinds of activities, aged persons try to give up ageing phase of life. Among all the activities some of the common ones are stated as such,

Development of reading habits in both English and Bengali languages.
Developing art of writing and other creative aspects.
Some become involved into vocal musical pursuit.
Becoming involved into various corporate and university jobs.
Socialising with fellow citizens to exchange ideas on various common issues.
So far I have updated about the about activities of ageing phase of human life. Now coming to the problems in ageing phase of human life, below I state some of them briefly. As per the problems in Bangladesh are concerned, it is more or less similar in comparison to India. Among all the problems some of the common ones are stated as follow,Visual impairment.

Difficulty in walking.
Difficulty in chewing any hard substances.
Difficulty in audibility.
Osteoporosis.
Arthritis.

Lastl it is admissible that human beings having born in this earth, have to admit ageing phase of life. Those not able to accept it, they suffer badly mentally and physically. As per the views of counselling psychologists in India and Bangladesh, human beings should accept ageing phase of life sportingly, otherwise our life will go out for a toss. Also family members should behave with aged persons gracefully and respectfully.
