People want election, not selection: GM Quader
Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has said that Bangladesh's people look forward to free and fair elections, not selection.
GM Quader made the above remark on Saturday in the party's Banani office at a program in which some lawyers joined Jatiya Party.
GM Quader further said that under the present circumstances smooth and neutral elections are not possible.
"We are with the election process. No one knows what will happen. If the election takes place, we will make a decision. As long as we do not withdraw our announcement, we are involved in the election process. We are preparing," GM Quader stated.
"If the election is conducted properly, then we will participate in the election. If we think the elections are not being conducted properly, then we will withdraw from it," he added.
"Jatiya Party will field candidates in 300 seats in the upcoming general elections. We will not join hands with anyone. We have already taken preparations to contest in the elections independently," GM Quader added.
